The year’s American Sociological Association’s annual meeting takes on the profound theme of “Feeling Race.” Beyond the intellectual exercise of knowing race, the conference pushes us to be with race, understanding that relationships and emotions are at the core of all our lives.  As keynote speaker Claude Steel noted, if we wish to ever find a nation together, we must rediscover love.

It is an honor to be at the annual meeting, surrounded by thousands of extremely intelligent people who have an earnest love of others.
