Northeast Sustainable Energy Association

NESEA

The Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) began as a collaborative community involving the six Northeast states, but it has expanded to be a forum both nationally and internationally. NESEA’s approach is to address any topic that will create a built environment “that is climate neutral, adaptive and resilient, energy independent, architecturally inspiring, and supportive of connection and community.” They have inspired discussions ranging from human developmental psychology to insulation research, always engendering thoughtful and often academic debate.
NESEA is the leading organization promoting buildings that are “zero net energy,” where annual renewable energy production meets or exceeds energy consumed from the grid. They are strong advocates of examining indoor air quality, renewable energy production in the Northeast, and innovative strategies for construction. NESEA seeks to introduce and develop the latest technologies to advance their mission, and create a market for consumers.
